Samurais and Ninjas

If anyone had asked me a few weeks ago what the difference between samurai swords and ninja swords I would have honestly not had a clue. The wonders of the internet meant that within ten minutes I had enough information to allow me to find out a little about these marvelous weapons.

Both of these weapons have seen a resurgence in popularity, capturing the imagination of sword collectors and oriental enthusiasts alike.

They have captured the imagination of ancient civilizations along with the morals and ideals that each of these cultures showed.

Ancient feudal Japan entrusted its defense to an elite group of warriors known as the Samurai. These were highly respected individuals whose values of respect, loyalty, pride and honor were second to none. There intricate relationship to the royalty that they served gave them a very high standing in their community.

In sharp contrast the ninjas were a group of fighters which were highly feared. They considered their weapons to be tools of the trade which were simple and crude, whilst the samurais considered their weapons to be valuables that needed to be respected and valued.
