My Experience with Compression Wear for Runners
March 15th, 2010 | by admin |I just chose to acquire a set of compression shorts to help in my running. I have been running for about twelve months now, and although I have stayed injury free, I decided to get a set to consider if the research in relation to better performance and injury minimization were valid. After having been running for just over a year now, i decided to invest in a set of compression stockings to aid with my running.
I wanted to see if the hype concerning the better performance and injury reduction was justifiable. I have been injury free anyway, but I still needed to give them a go.After having heard a lot of talk about the injury reduction and performance improvements attributed to using compression clothes, I decided, after 12 months as a runner, to buy a pair and give them a go. I have had little in the way of injury, but the performance enhancement sounded tempting.
After doing plenty of online investigation I discovered a good pair of leggings for roughly the $60 mark. You can certainly get them cheaper, and also pay a hell of a lot more for a pair, One thing to be conscious of is that they are usually made and tailored a little differently for various disciplines, such as running or cycling. There is also some difference in the shorts designed for men or females. Be certain to choose the correct ones.
Having been wearing them for about a week or so, my first impression is positive. For the same given heart rate during the same route I have experienced some small reductions in my times, and I feel fresher at the end. Time will tell.
