Boutique cruise lines, which are pricier, offer more intimate, small vessel adventures that put you in closer proximity to the scenery. A final, super cheap option is to take one of the ferries that head up and down the Alaskan coast. You might have to sleep over the deck of the ship but by doing that you are also going to save a huge amount of money for you.
