No. But you can convince your mind to be positive about it. The human ind has got amazing capabilities, after all it is the human mind that created god. You can convince yourself to be healthy and also vice versa. it is upto your brain to launch adreline and immune system chemicals to make your body better. But if the illness is something like cancer or something that could bypass the immune system and even the acute immune system, ultimately, it would require extra human help to get cured through scientific tecniques. It has proven that through a positive outlook, a brain may prepare to throw out any disease in the body.

Through candles and prayer? Are you catholic?

Spiritual healing has always been a part of Christianity. As as Christian, I am not sure what to make out it, yet.

God healed in the Old Testament, Jesus healed in the Gospels, and the disciples healed in the New Testament.

Early church history mentions healings too. In the course of Christianity’s history it mentions healings.

So, in theory, it should be possible.

Have I seen it happen 100% in modern times, 2009? I don’t know. I mean people claim to be healed, when, in truth, they would have been healed anyway through time and/or medicine. I see several cases like this. I don’t discount God’s hand in their healings but, we are talking supernatural healing here not, primarily natural healing.

The healing evangelists have hurt and helped the idea of spiritual healing. Some have been proven to be out right frauds. Others have been a little bit of both it seems (Oral Roberts). Some have had probably most legitamite success (Kathryn Kuhlman).

I don’t know much about it through the Catholic perspective. But, Catholics believe in the Biblical Christ so it is available. I cannot recommend how to go about it through praying to the saints though.

I had a stomach problem where I couldn’t eat much and had no desire to eat. I had this problem for about 2 weeks. I lost like 20 lbs. I tried a healing prayer hotline. The person on the other side of the phone was a person who’s job was to pray for you. I had no experience in spirtual healing before that time. I needed help and took a chance. The prayed for me. I, honestly, did get progressively better after that prayer. It was a Pentecostal hotline. The stomach problem was cured. This is the most personal experience I have had with spiritual healing. Now, the problem could have healed itself naturally and it was just coincidence or in my mind, this is possible. But, I am not going to sit here and dismiss as just coincidence totally. I’m just not 100% and don’t want to mislead someone with my story. The healing was done, through faith in Jesus Christ, by prayer of another Christian, after I made that call, not before. So, pick which one makes more sense to you.

So, keep praying. Divine healing is a mysterious thing. Most people will agree healings don’t happen to everybody that is prayed for. For some reason some get healed and some don’t. But, that doesn’t mean to quit and not pray. Perseverance is important in seeking healing prayer. I would recommend talking to a pastor or priest on the subject. The priest should give you a clear answer. A pastor (of a protestant church) it will depend. I would recommend a pentecostal pastor if you want to ask.

I only know of Christian healing. I’m not sure if you were talking about another religious healing belief or not. It may be possible this is what you are asking for. I still wouldn’t discount Christian healing if you were seeking from another religion. Christianity does specialize in this area.
