Very nice speaker but I challenge any nutritionist to get better results than with a raw vegan diet such as the one I have designed for myself for the last ten years.

    I support …
I support integrative medicine. However most people who believe that conventional medicine is the only “proven” medicine are misinformed. There are many drugs that have been approved by the FDA based on experiments using a few rats & lasting a few months. There is no information regarding longterm effectiveness or sideeffects of the drug. In contrast many other treatment systems such as Ayurveda (oldest organised medicine) have proved the efficacy of its meds over generations. Check it out FYI.

I know many naturopathic students and the field is always facing obstacles. If people knew the actual worth of naturopathic practice, they would never really need to become as dependent upon allopaths for their healthcare needs.

    these are very …
these are very interesting videos. i personally dont believe in behavior modification drugs because ive noticed that people get dependant on them and the problem may have been from improper diet and after a while these drugs seem to stop working and the problem that the medicine was suppose to cure comes back even worse and they cant just stop taking a drug without having some type of withdrawal and the withdrawals can make them much worse.

    My behavior …
My behavior modification professor was talking about how the cure to depression might be as simple as changing a behavior or adding another (like exercise), for whatever reason. I think experimenting with that might be better than loading people on drugs.

well for example me and my husband…
    I am treating my schizophrenia
and he is treating his bipolar disorder
with therapeutic amounts of vitamins, amino acids, and omega 3
and when we take these nutrients we are more balanced because of them.
I don’t even identify with my diagnosed schizophrenia anymore because my life has changed so much.

    Actually not true. …
    Actually not true.

For example, SSRIs do not actually increase serotonin in the brain; they simply prevent the cell from re-uptaking the serotonin that’s already there. So, the serotonin is effectively forces to stay in synapses between nerve cells instead of back in the cell.

In contrast, if the body isn’t producing enough of serotonin because of a lack of 5HT, then the nutrition will correct the imbalance and the body can create the needed serotonin.

    Really? Show me a …
Really? Show me a schizophrenic that won’t see things if he is eating a healthy diet. I think if this were the case, we wouldn’t have so many problems in the world. Nutrition is very limited, it doesn’t take into account social influences, sleep, biological tendencies etc.

    Many many emotional …
Many many emotional and of the “crazy” disorders are due to too many or not enough receptors in the brain (dopamine, seratonin, etc) Changing your diet would affect the production of neurotransmitters, but would be doing the same thing as a pill- you wouldn’t be fixing the ACTUAL brain. I think all doctors need to take the “whole body” approach, and I feel this video is overexaggerating the fact that doctors dont do it at all a bit too much.

    Science has never …
Science has never documented a chemical imbalance caused by a genetic disorder. It’s a theory for which not even a single scientific example exist for it.

I’ll even give you $1000.00 if you can find a scientific study that conclusive demonstrates a mental disorder caused by a chemical imbalance in the brain which is causes by a genetic defect.
