Naturopaths, Holistic bodyworkers, Accupuncturists, Massage Therapists please answer….?

October 18th, 2009 | by admin |

What was your motivation for going into holistic healing and what is your personal philosophy on healthcare?

Hi , Great question.
Mine is the the fact that I am a Buddhist and like to help others. I see my Naturopathy as an extension of that. I feel that health and wellbeing is everyone’s right as is their right to choose what they want to use to maintain that. I think there is too much misinformation about natural healthcare and natural therapies are over priced therefore making them a service for the wealthy when they should be for all peoples.
It is my goal to provide information and services to as many people as I can whether I get money from it or not because I believe in human beings and compassion towards all humans as the way forward.

I can only speak for myself in that my motivation is to truly help others help themselves. To be healthy you must adopt a lifestyle that honors our mind, body and spiritual lives. Health care cannot come from a pill, potion or procedure; nor can it come from fad diets or gimmick exercise programs. A real healer is more of a teacher than anything. If you cannot help someone change the cause of their problem then no amount of "quick fix" solutions will ever have any lasting effect.

Believe it or not, I started studying herbal medicine because my mother bought a book called "The Magic and Medicine of Plants". I was fascinated by how many "weeds" that grew near my house were medicinal. So I started studying, and growing them, and experimenting with teas and mixtures and potions and whatever, and here I am, an amateur herbalist. The best thing I got out of this was that I’m rarely ever sick enough to go to a doctor, and I’ve only had to take antibiotics twice in 15 years; once when I had surgery, and once when I had a severe sinus infection that just wouldn’t clear up.

Consequently, I have not built up a resistance to the weaker, original antibiotics, and usually a penicillin or amoxicillin can knock anything out for me. I don’t need to take $200 a bottle antibiotics like those that run to the Dr. for every little ache and pain.

Their motivation is the desire to offer healing to people without having the actual intelligence, education or training necessary for the medical field.

I am a "hands on" and distance healer. First the how. If you connect a garden hose to a faucet and water your lawn, did the hose water the lawn, did the faucet? or was it the water coming forth? Yeah, that’s easy. Well, I’m the faucet and hose in this example. GOD is the water.
How do I feel about health care? The medical profession is an honorable group of people on the whole. They have crooks and they have saints. I think more saints although we hear about the crooks more because it is more exciting.
How I got started? I was told to while my inert body was dead on a gurney in France.. For quite a few years I didn’t believe it. I believed there were selected healers, I just couldn’t fathom me being one of them. I thought only Catholic saints could do these things. My sister in law is a Nun and she disowned me over this. Her loss, not mine.
GOD finally convinced me that HE chooses for HIS reasons, not ours.
There’s so much more but I think I answered your questions. If not, leave me a note @ http://www.internationalhealers.org

I needed to find a career where what I did helped people. I like working with people to achieve their goals. I also liked the idea of having no end to what I could learn in my field. I feel as a healthcare provider it is my job to facilitate personal growth and healing, I can’t "fix" people, but I can help support them through their process of healing and contribute the their wellness goals.

As a patient many years ago I would go to traditional western doctors and find that they would treat symptoms and not causes. I eventually found acupuncture and saw how herbs, acupuncture and other medicines would try and treat the root cause of a symptom and not the symptom itself. Having non-traditional doctors help heal me got me to go into eastern medicine and I want to show others how to heal people and not their symptoms.
