About how long is the healing process for a new nose piercing?

January 19th, 2010 | by admin |

How long after you get the piercing, does it heal up and not hurt anymore? I am thinking about getting my nose done by the end of this month and am curious as to how long the healing process takes.

Any info?
And, how bad does it hurt during that period of time?
Is it really painful?
And what is the best way to clean it and how often should I clean it?
What should I clean it with?

Ok theres all my questions. Thanks and please no rude or pointless comments. Thanks again(:

Nose piercings can take about 3-4 months to fully heal, some even longer.

It’s not that painful, it’s just a bit of a shock obviously, as it is a natural reaction you will have watering eyes though.

The best way to clean it is salt water:
1/4 teaspoon of sea salt (not table) dissolved in 8oz/one cup of hot water, when warm bathe for 5-10 minutes do this twice a day.

Don’t move or put make-up on it/near it etc.

Good luck (:

I’m not sure how long it takes to heal – probably a few months.

Mines stopped hurting after about 5/6 days… even then it didn’t really hurt, just more uncomfortable.

Its not painful to get it done, no.
    I don’t know what other piercings you have? but this is my nose in comparrison to others;

    Nose; 2/10
    Ear lobes; 1/10
    Cartilage; 2/10
    Navel; 4/10

Your piercer should either give you advice on the best way to clean it, and possibly give you cleaning solution.
I use a Q-Tip covered in cleaning solution and it’s pretty obvious what to do once you have it.

Don’t play with it too much :)

the guy told me 3 months to heal. it stopped hurting me a few hours after i got it done.
it hurts a little, i had to get it pierced on the same side that day so it hurt me a lot more than it normally does. I clean it with H2Ocean Piercing Spray works amazing!!

    Depends on the person.
I myself heal within about 4 weeks but ive seen people where it has 6 months to officially heal.

Its not painful at all to me, and you usually clean it with contact solution which your piercer gives you instructions for.
