Rock Climbing History
Rock climbing history tells us that this was always considered as a part of mountaineering. In fact, the training for mountaineering was rock climbing. Mountaineers used rock climbing as a means of getting ready for an expedition where they may encounter steep rocks to be negotiated. In the 1920’s, in America, it became an important tool to be used to improve climbing skills and in the 1950’s it became a sport.
Rock climbing history continues to tell us that As more people became interested in the sport a grading system was developed. This grading system tells the difficulty of the climb and the climber’s ability to make the climb and followed by the development of climbing styles and use of protective gear.
