Now you’ve recently been down the shops or ordered online and now you have your flax seed. You have read that they possess some great nutrients to help you achieve a balanced diet; so what do you do with them now?

Well initially, you need to put your whole flax seeds into a coffee grinder for example and mill it down to a powder; now in this form your body can digest all the great healthy nutrients inside. It doesn’t matter if the flax seeds are golden or brown form. If this sounds too much hassle then buy flax seed meal and just open the packet and sprinkle. The only downside is that this form doesn’t have the best shelf life.

For those of you who may not be aware, my wife is on this health kick and has basically cleaned out our cupboards of all the good stuff and replaced it with more healthy, natural and organic products. As you can imagine, this was not so well received at first. Her rationale was that she refuses to spend money on weight loss products like the Medifast diet.

I understand and have actually found some of the changes to be tolerable. However, I still can not stand whole wheat pancakes or brown rice. Both of these items are an acquired taste that I have not yet acquired.

There are two essential fatty acids you should have in what you eat – they are known as essential as they can’t be made by our bodies. The kind you get after you buy flax seed is largely Omega 3 oil (alpha linolenic acid). They are required for the correct operation of just about everything in our body from making tissue, good nerve function, hormone levels and functioning, generating anti-inflammatory agents etc. However, in case you not like fish or are a vegan or basically don’t actually eat a large amount of fish, then adding flax seed to your healthy eating plan may well seriously advantage your health. So all you could have to do is decide in what type you are going to take in this great small seed.

Have you ever heard of the Malbec wine varietal? Maybe, maybe not. If not let me give you some background information on it. The Malbec grape originally fares from France. It is one of 6 grapes used to produce the Bordeaux family of wines. Throughout history the Malbec grape was never actually used to create its own unique type of wine. Rather it was used to enhance the color and boldness of other wines … for example you might find some Malbec in a merlot or cabernet. More recently the Malbec has become its own varietal and I have to say … I am a fan. It is also a grape that likes warmer climates. This makes me wonder how it will do in California. California Wine Club

Meal replacements help people lose weight by providing a controlled amount of calories, protein, carbohydrates and fat in a prefixed portion. They simplify meal planning because they are convenient — easy to store, and requiring little preparation. They are also reasonably prices, usually costing less than the meal they replace.

Meal replacements reduce the number of decisions you have to make about what to eat and reduce your exposure to tempting foods that might result in overeating.

Many effective weight loss plans that use meal replacements recommend either using them in addition to eating 1 or 2 healthy “grocery” foods meals, or replacing 2 or 3 meals and several snacks per day to lose weight, and then replacing 1 meal per day to maintain weight.

Using a meal replacement instead of an entire meal or snack can help you to reduce your calorie and fat intake and your blood sugar levels. When you first start using meal replacements, you will likely notice an immediate reduction in your blood sugar levels because you will probably be consuming fewer calories and less carbohydrates than you would with your usual meal. Finding a good source of meal replacements can costly so if you use the diet direct coupons you can save each time you purchase.
