i dont have the money to pay for therapy with a psychologist. can you please tell me some ideas on good alternatives that would also be healing? im not talking about using a friend as a sounding board, i dont want to put that on someone else, but rather methods that someone can do to heal themselves emotionally & mentally without medication.

Some forms of psychological counseling rely on behavior changes rather than exploring the reasons for the behavior. Most people can identify their own problems, although they lack the ability to follow-through with changing themselves. Behavior comes down to habit, change your habits to change yourself. Thinking positively about one’s self and doing what needs to be done (particularly when it is hard to do) can go a long way. It has been proven that even fake laughter triggers a biochemical reaction in the brain that positively alters one’s perspective.

Establishing a habit to replace a habit that is the result of many years of practice is very difficult. If you start slow and gradually increase you will have a better chance of making it a habit. Of course, it will take 3 weeks or more to establish the habit. During those 3 weeks you have to commit yourself to doing something you don’t really want to do.

There is a book that might help titled: Change Your Brain Change Your Life. You could also do check out meditation.

My boyfriend broke his collarbone and does not want metal in his body. When I had ear surgery as a child, they had synthetic patches to encourage the eardrum to heal back to the skin and I wonder does a synthetic, temporary alternative exist for bone resetting?

Treatment of clavicle fractures most commonly involves resting the affected extremity. There are several types of slings available; one commonly used is called a"figure-of-8" splint. This is a brace that wraps around the shoulders to keep them back–like a soldier standing at attention.

It is unusual for a clavicle fracture to require surgery, and most often an attempt at treatment in a sling is made. Surgery is required in some situations when either the skin is broken or if the fracture is severely displaced or shortened.

Currently, if a pin is needed it is typically made out of metal.

I need to keep getting the ball to have an effective chance of winning but, the toll on my body parts builds up. I know in the nfl and college they try to limit the carries they get but, is there any type of alternative healing or medicine to help me stay healthy I know some running backs try some of these methods like Ricky Williams and Fred Taylor. Anybody know any methods and where I could learn about them?

Sports massage might be something to look into, lots of athletes use massage for injuries and recovery.

i’ve got physical health probs that can’t be cured medically. i’m looking for an alternative / spiritual therapy to help heal my physical health and also to improve my mental well being.
i’m not interested in answers relating to Jesus thanks… i’m looking towards other areas of spirituality

You say you have physical problems, then why dont you let us know your problems? I am sure you will find a lot of alternative therapies which will work on you. Many symptoms, disorders and ailments are not cured medically. But there are other medicinal therapies which help. Homeopathy, Ayurveda and Unani are very good therapies.
Alternative therapies are Acupuncture, acupressure, reiki, reflexology, meditation, yoga, music, gems, iridology, pranic healing, and many more.
Spirituality is a personal issue and as such I will not touch it. To each his religion and spirituality is supreme. Spirituality can calm your mind to a certain extent. Physical problems need medical attention. This is where alternative medicines help.
When alternative medicines fail, conventional medicines is the only resort to well-being.

Because the VA sucks and they don’t give a damn about the pain and suffering of vets. They just want to get you out of there with the least effort and expense possible. Anything they can find an excuse not to cover, they won’t cover. that’s why they deny payment on all bills from other medical facilities. They are more vile than I can describe.

Contact your local paper and ask if they accept freelance work. Be prepared to describe the article you want to submit, and it’s relevance to the publications readership. Some newspapers welcome freelance work others don’t. Small town newspapers are usually more receptive.

Plus have no vices…don’t drink don’t smoke!

Simplify your life. Learn to say "no". Eat a healthy diet and get regular exercise. Most importantly, take a few minutes every day to count your blessings. People who are depressed tend to focus on the negative too much. If you make a point of being thankful and grateful for all the GOOD things in your life, the depression will lift.
