Children Guitar Lessons – The Parental Role Part O
So your son or daughter wants to learn to play the guitar. Well this is an extremely good thing, since music education transcends simply learning an instrument. The benefits of music education are too numerous to discuss here, since the focus of this article, is what you, as a parent can do to ensure your Childs success with learning guitar or any instrument for that matter.
The first mistake that parents often make is not taking an active role in the learning process. The child is often relegated to an isolated part to the house to practice. Parents often never actually here they children play. This simple fact alone can have a tremendously detrimental affect on the child’s success and motivation to continue playing and learning.
So after your child has finished practicing, take five minutes out of your day to listen to your child’s playing. Be encouraging, regardless of how bad it sounds and be sure to point out places in which your child has improved. This small commitment will reap huge rewards.
