Pamela Miles explains how Reiki can help you feel better and safely manage symptoms such as pain, anxiety, and fatigue, even if you are being treated for a health condition. Reiki is safe for people of all ages. It strengthens wellness and self-healing, and can be used to support any needed medical care. You can receive Reiki treatment from a professional or a friend, or learn to practice on yourself.

Reiki usually is helpful with anxiety. Why not learn to practice self-treatment? Just remember that it is important to practice every day.

There are no …
There are no regulations for Reiki training or treatment, so I cannot speak to what a particular teacher includes in her class. Chakras are part of the yogic prana/nadi system, and not part of traditional practice as it came out of Japan.
We are all different and it can take time for some people to experience the pulsations. The important thing is to practice Reiki self-treatment everyday. You can learn more about self-treatment in my book REIKI: A Comprehensive Guide (Tarcher/Penguin).

The scientific …
The scientific investigation of Reiki is just beginning and already there are a number of small studies with promising results published in reputable peer-reviewed medical journals. It is not logical to ume that something is ineffective just because science does not yet know the mechanism of action. Aspirin was used for 70 years before the mechanism of action was understood scientifically.

That is a common misconception. I have offered Reiki treatment in the OR to patients undergoing surgery many times and the patients have always done well. Remember that there is always at least one anesthesiologist monitoring the patient and making adjustments.

As far as I know, one shouldn’t practice reiki when someone’s under a surgery because of the effects it has regarding the anaesthesia.

Pamela’s excellent book is a “must read” for all my Reiki students. Her premise to Reiki is more clinical/less mystical and completely empathic. She tenderly reminds us to always put the patient first. This video is wonderful! Thanks, Pamela, and God bless!

I was a student of Pamela’s a year and a half ago. She truely understands Reiki and is a wonderful teacher, based in NYC. Check her web site for the current class schedule. Her book is very good, too. Pamela, the video is wonderful – high quality video and sound, and your “Reiki presence” comes through.

Thank you for demystifying Reiki by making this clear and concise video available to a larger global audience; it is instructive and enjoyable too.
May it be an inspiration for those who seek to receive and/or to provide physical, emotional and spiritual support and healing, to name a few of the benefits that a Reiki treatment can provide.
